I’m a middle-aged geek from Los Angeles who likes to build things. I don’t get to do this nearly as much as I would like, but maybe it’s for the best, because my ambitions sometimes greatly exceed my capabilities.
I am also cheap. Some would say, very cheap. That is because my discretionary budget is always “as close to zero as possible”- trying to maintain the pretense that the Middle Class is still a real concept in modern America is horrendously expensive, and so at the end of the month, there is little left for fun-shopping and other sundry. So, I make do with what I have and spend wisely. It often takes a lot more patience, time and effort, but, so what?
